He Has Exalted His Word
My Encouragement
Psalm 138:1-2 (KJV)
I will praise thee with my whole
heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. 2 I will
worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and
for thy truth:
FOR THOU HAST MAGNIFIED THY WORD ABOVE ALL THY NAME.
FOR THOU HAST MAGNIFIED THY WORD ABOVE ALL THY NAME.
We know
from the Scriptures that the name of the Lord our God is great, glorious and
exalted in all the earth.
We know
that His name must never be taken in vain, and that nobody shall be guiltless who
takes His name in vain (Exodus 20:7 KJV - 7 Thou shalt NOT take
the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain).
We know
that our first commitment in prayer, as taught by Jesus is to hallow God’s
great and glorious name, as our heavenly Father.
However
David, by the Holy Spirit is giving us a profound revelation here: God has
exalted HIS WORD far above all HIS NAME. This is saying something!
If God
has exalted His Word above all His name, then we need to reexamine our attitude
to the Word of God. If anyone who takes
God’s name in vain cannot be guiltless, then, what happens to anyone who
despises or refuses to believe God’s Word that has been exalted far above all
His Name? Developing a reverential attitude
of faith to the Word of God will profoundly change your life – positively,
gloriously, and eternally.
Reading
our Scripture text today from another translation is a great faith booster.
Psalm 138:1-2 (NLT) 1 I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. 2
I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for
your unfailing love and faithfulness;
FOR YOUR PROMISES ARE BACKED BY ALL THE HONOR OF YOUR NAME.
FOR YOUR PROMISES ARE BACKED BY ALL THE HONOR OF YOUR NAME.
This
gives us a clearer understanding of what the Holy Spirit means when He says
that God’s Word has been exalted far above all His name. All the honor of God’s name is behind every
word that He speaks. Whatever He says is
what He does. Whatever He claims to be
is what He is. If He says He is
Jehovah-Rapha, He heals. If He says He is Jehovah-Jireh, He provides (or better
said – He becomes our providence).
Whatever He says cannot fail because all the honor of His name is behind
His Word. In other words, He has exalted
His Word above all His Name. Rejoice
therefore: all His Word are Yea and Amen.
This will find exact fulfillment just as He has spoken it to you.
2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) 20 For all the
promises of God in Him (Jesus) are yea, and in Him (Jesus) Amen, unto the glory
of God by us.
My Prayer
Father in the name of Jesus
Christ of Nazareth, we give you thanks because all your words are true and
faithful. Father we ask you to hasten the fulfillment of Your word in our lives
in the name of Jesus. We take ownership
of your Word in our lives to see it come to pass as you indeed MAGNIFY YOUR
WORD ABOVE ALL YOUR NAME. Father, in
You, we will indeed rejoice and be glad and extol your love more than wine. Draw
us unto you and let us run together in power of Your Word, in Jesus’ name. Father we give You thank because You have
heard and answered our prayers this day, as we have said this prayer in the
name of Your precious Son Jesus Christ, and everyone who felt the power of this
prayer said a big…V AMENV
Father Your Word is the anchor for my soul. I CANNOT FAIL.
(IF THIS BLESSED YOU, SHARE IT WITH YOUR
FRIENDS)
